How it works
The date difference calculator subtracts the earlier date from the later one and expresses the gap in five useful ways: total days, weeks (with a decimal), working days, hours, and an approximate month count. Both dates are parsed as midnight in your local timezone. That means the day count is stable regardless of when you open the page and doesn't shift around daylight-saving boundaries. If you tick 'include end date', the last day is counted too — so booking a 1-night hotel stay from a Mon–Tue check-in/out reads as 1 day (default) or 2 days (inclusive) depending on how you want to think about it. Working days count Monday through Friday only. This is enough for most contract, notice-period and project-length calculations.

Frequently asked
Does the calculator include the end date?open
By default it excludes the end date so a Mon–Wed gap counts as 2 days. Tick 'Include the end date' to count it as 3 days.
How are working days counted?open
Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday excluded. Public holidays are not deducted in this version.
Can I swap the start and end date?open
You don't need to — if the end date is earlier than the start date, we automatically swap them and show the absolute difference.
Is the difference calculated in my timezone?open
Yes. Both dates are treated as midnight in your local timezone, so daylight saving changes don't distort the day count.
